Project Development Seeking Opportunities
The Kids Count Community Project chair, Mary Kutch, is currently processing applications for community projects for our next JLO year, 2010-2011. The current applications were due by November 15, 2010.
If your organization would like to be on our list of contacts to receive next year's application, please contact Mary Kutch at MaryK@OlympiaVision.com. Information regarding the request for proposals can be found here, as well as the current application.
Viable projects must align with our mission, vision and focus, and provide volunteer opportunities for our league members.
- Our Mission: The Junior League of Olympia is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
- Our Vision: Women leading Thurston County in collaborative community change.
- Our Focus area: The prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Kids Count Project Development creates possibilities to fulfill Junior League of Olympia¹s mission, vision, and focus by enriching community projects for children and families. As we join community partners with our volunteers, creative solutions, and funding, we change the community by giving hope, compassion, and education to needed projects which in turn enables our community to thrive.
Our talented and dedicated members have volunteered in a variety of community building projects. We were instrumental in starting The Little Red Schoolhouse which provides back to school supplies and clothing for over 2,000 students each year. Other projects have included assisting in a Holiday Party for Foster Children, supporting parent education which promotes the development of healthy families, creating resource kits for young mothers, making literacy book bags for low income children, clothing drives for needy families and collecting preemie clothing for the March of Dimes.
